I Hate Being Misunderstood

I had a difficult conversation today.

You know the ones where it feels like no matter how much you try to explain and clarify, it is just not making things better. I like this person, really like his heart to be honest and ask some good and tough questions.

But I still hate to be misunderstood! However, am learning that the big questions is not if we understand but if we grow... both of us...

If we have enough trust invested in our relationships that we can learn from each other and grow, in conversations there is not always a right and wrong, it is just different opinions, different way of seeing things, different values.

So, the next time I am misunderstood, maybe it is just a good learning experience and an opportunity to develop deeper trust.
